Barcelona outcast likely to undergo medical this week as exit inches closer – Romano | OneFootball

Despite some hurdles and breaks in negotiations, Ansu Fati’s move from FC Barcelona to AS Monaco appears to be going ahead as expected.

The 22-year-old forward is out of favour at the club and the Ligue 1 giants have been working to sign for a few weeks now.

However, the deal had hit a standstill due to disagreements over the distribution of salary as well as the price of the permanent buy clause.

But, as reported earlier today, things are again progressing forward in the deal with Barça agreeing to compromise on their previous stance.

Medicals this week

Building on that, Fabrizio Romano now reports that AS Monaco are planning to hold Ansu Fati’s medicals this week, suggesting that the operation is closer to the finish line.

As per the update, Barcelona and Monaco are now finalising all details of the deal, which will be an initial loan operation with a buy option.

As such, Romano insists that the ‘Here we go’ on the operation is likely to arrive sooner rather than later.

While Barcelona might end up paying a sizeable share of Ansu’s salary, it is still better than having to cover his entire wages for the whole season.

Finalising his exit means a boost in terms of the salary space which will make things easier for the La Liga champions to register Joan Garcia and Nico Williams.

As for Ansu, it will be a chance to start afresh and get his career back on track away from the spotlight and scrutiny at Barcelona.
