Barcelona president met with superagent – two names discussed | OneFootball

Joan Laporta’s figure continues to divide Barcelona’s fanbase, and rightfully so, for some consider him a leader in helping the club out of a precarious financial situation, while others demand more transparency and accountability on the same.

Irrespective of the opinion around him, one factor that makes him the great president that he is continues to be the good diplomatic relationship he has with various stakeholders and superagents.

Several of Barcelona’s signings in recent years have been made without guarantees of registration, and only a strong relationship with players’ agents can achieve the same.

Pini Zahavi, the agent of Robert Lewandowski and Hansi Flick, is one such representative Laporta has a close bond with.

A secret meeting

As relayed by SPORT in a recent report, Laporta and Zahavi met for a dinner that lasted close to two hours last night, and it was a very eventful get-together.

For starters, the Barcelona president found out about La Liga accepting Marc-Andre Ter Stegen’s medical report right then and thus celebrated the assurance of Garcia’s registration for the first league game of the season.

The primary topic Laporta and Zahavi discussed, however, was the situation of Robert Lewandowski, who is beginning to attract interest from Saudi Arabia, although he has received no formal offer yet.

Zahavi assured Laporta that his client was only focused on giving his all to the club and that an exit was not seen as an option at the time being.

The next big topic that was discussed over dinner was on an anonymous young Brazilian player whom Zahavi recently inducted into his representation agency.

All that is known of the player is that he has a high ceiling and plays in France, but he is not on Barcelona’s radar at the moment, for the priority of any finances is towards completing registrations.
