Luis Diaz has quickly become one of the hottest names in the transfer market this summer. The Colombian forward is on the radar of some of Europe’s biggest clubs, and among them are FC Barcelona, who have shown serious interest in signing him.

In fact, before Nico Williams unexpectedly renewed his deal with Athletic Club, Diaz was Deco’s first choice to strengthen Hansi Flick’s attack.

Speaking during a chat with some Instagram influencers from his home country, Diaz gave an honest update on his future.

“We’re in talks with Liverpool and everyone who has shown interest,” he said. “I’m very happy where I am, but I need to make the best decision for me.” His words did not sound like a farewell, but they also didn’t rule out a move.

Barcelona and Bayern Munich in the mix

Diaz now finds himself with three main options. First is a renewal offer from Liverpool. His current contract runs until June 2027, but the new offer has not convinced him yet.

Then there is Barcelona, who continue to monitor his situation. Finally, Bayern Munich are also interested and seem willing to move fast.

Interestingly, when one of the Instagrammers mentioned “Barcelona,” Diaz couldn’t help but smile. It was a moment that did not go unnoticed. Still, joining the Catalan side won’t be easy.

The forward is not pushing to leave right away, but he is open to waiting until Barcelona can afford the transfer. Liverpool, on the other hand, have put a starting price of €80 million on the table, a number that Barcelona can’t match at the moment.

To make things tougher for Barça, Bayern Munich have the money and the desire to get a deal done.

With stronger finances and fewer hurdles, the German club could be a serious threat to Barcelona’s plans.
