PSG have previously shown a knack for attracting top Portuguese talent to the French capital, and this summer, they could look to repeat that success.

With strong ties to Portugal through sporting advisor Luis Campos, PSG have previously signed players like Vitinha, João Neves, and Gonçalo Ramos.

As CaughtOffside previously reported, Porto wonderkid Rodrigo Mora is drawing attention from some of Europe’s biggest clubs despite being just 17 years old. Arsenal, Manchester United, Real Madrid, PSG, and Aston Villa are all reportedly interested in the versatile attacker, who can play as both an attacking midfielder and a winger.

Mora’s current release clause is set at £55 million, though CaughtOffside notes that figure could rise to around £70 million by 2027.

Fichajes reports that Barcelona have had their eye on the player for a while, confident he would be a natural fit for their style of play. But Mora’s rise at Porto and his growing role in the first team have driven up his value, making him increasingly out of reach for the Catalan club’s limited budget.

PSG, on the other hand, don’t face that financial hurdle. The French side, known for investing heavily in young talent, are reportedly ready to step up with an offer that Barcelona simply can’t match.

The Parisians see the Portuguese striker as both a long-term project and someone who could contribute right away if his development continues on its current path.

FC Porto are well aware of how valuable Mora is and are in no hurry to push through a transfer. Barcelona, meanwhile, are still looking for ways to stay in the race financially.

But with each passing week, it’s becoming harder for them to match what PSG could put on the table. Right now, the French club looks like the frontrunner to land one of Portuguese football’s most exciting young talents.
