Francisco Trincao is having a season to remember. The former Barcelona attacker has emerged as one of the top performers in the Portuguese top flight this season, racking up nine goals and 15 assists in all competitions.
Trincao was once again in the thick of things yesterday as he played a crucial role in Portugal’s 5-3 aggregate win over Denmark.
The Sporting CP forward notably scored a brace that helped Portugal book their place in the semifinal of the UEFA Nations League.
As reported by Mundo Deportivo, Barcelona are keeping a close eye on Trincao’s situation as his value continues to skyrocket.
With 24 goal involvements in all competitions, Trincao has already garnered the attention of top clubs across Europe. Now, his performance against Denmark will only add to the speculation over his future at Sporting CP.

The likes of Manchester City and Manchester United have already been linked with a move for the Portuguese this season and the list is only likely to increase.
This could be beneficial for Barça as they hold a buyback clause worth just €25 million. But in addition, the Catalans also hold half of the player’s transfer rights.
This means Barcelona are entitled to half of the amount of Trincao’s future sale from Sporting CP.
This is where things start to get interesting. The Portuguese international currently has a €80 million release clause embedded in his Sporting contract.
That means should any European outfit trigger the release clause, Barcelona could be entitled to a financial gain of about €40 million.
That said, it is unlikely any club would want to spend €80 million for Trincao.
A more realistic figure could be the €30 million mark which Barcelona reached to sign the forward in the first place. In that case, the Catalans could pocket about €15 million.
