Karim Adeyemi’s move to FC Barcelona has been fully agreed for a while now, but an announcement of the transfer has yet to be made.

Now, according to SPORT, the club are likely to officially confirm the signing of the 24-year-old forward over the weekend once the remaining administrative procedures are completed.

The German international arrived in Barcelona on Wednesday to finalise the transfer and successfully passed his medical examination on Thursday, leaving only the formal documentation between Barcelona and Borussia Dortmund to be completed.

Barcelona relaxed

Despite the slight delay, Barcelona remain completely relaxed about the situation.

Club sources insist there are no concerns regarding the transfer, explaining that the wait is simply due to the exchange and validation of paperwork between the two clubs, a standard process for deals of this size.

The official announcement is now expected to arrive either on Saturday or Sunday.

Adeyemi’s public presentation, however, will take place next week after club president Joan Laporta returns from his trip to the United States.

First visit to the training ground

While waiting for the final paperwork to be completed, Adeyemi has already begun settling into his new surroundings.

The winger visited the Ciutat Esportiva Joan Gamper today, where he toured the facilities and met members of the Barcelona first-team squad.

Although he did not take part in training, he spent time greeting his future teammates and speaking with head coach Hansi Flick, who has been one of the strongest supporters of bringing the German attacker to the club.

Details of the deal

The agreement between Barcelona and Borussia Dortmund has already been finalised.

Barcelona will pay a fixed €22 million transfer fee, with a further €7 million potentially payable through performance-related bonuses linked to both the player’s individual achievements and the club’s sporting objectives.

As part of the agreement, Dortmund will retain a sell-on clause based on any future profit from a transfer.

Adeyemi will sign a five-year contract running until June 2031 and will become Barcelona’s second major signing ahead of the 2026/27 season.

With only the final administrative approval remaining, the German forward is effectively already a Barcelona player, with the club’s official confirmation expected within the coming days.
