A concerning update on the situation of sidelined Barcelona star Gavi has come to the fore online on Sunday.

This comes amid claims that the midfielder could soon be forced to undergo another minor surgical procedure.

Youngster Gavi for his part set alarm bells sounding across Catalunya’s capital late last month.

This came after word was forthcoming that the 21-year-old had picked up an injury problem in the same knee in which he previously tore the ACL.

Ensuing reports have varied widely when it comes to the extent of the issue, as well as how long Gavi is likely to be sidelined.

As alluded to above, though, on Sunday, a fresh update on the situation has come to the fore.

The info comes courtesy of Diario Sport, and confirms that:

‘Arthroscopy is also not ruled out in the event that it is necessary to ‘clean’ the affected area in the knee, which, we insist, would not affect the cruciate ligament.’

Whether this path or a more conservative one are followed will be definitively decided after Gavi undergoes a fresh round of medical checks in Barcelona on Monday.
