Barcelona star could be used in a surprise role vs PSG | OneFootball

Barcelona head coach Hansi Flick is mulling over what would be an altogether surprise personnel call in his XI to face Paris Saint-Germain.

That’s according to Marca, who point towards as much as potentially coming at left-back.

Flick is for his part facing up to something of a dilemma on the left side of his backline at present.

In the absence of the sidelined Alejandro Balde, the German has turned to Gerard Martín for several weeks now.

Balde’s return to fitness, though, could yet see the 21-year-old thrown immediately back into a starting role against PSG on Wednesday.

But Flick’s options do not end there.

Over the last couple of weeks, Barca’s headmaster has also shifted the versatile Eric García to left-back late in several outings.

And according to Marca:

‘The change in Eric’s status, who has become undisputed for Flick, could be the big surprise in the German’s lineup for the Parisians.’
