Barcelona star explains why he is ‘not happy’ after win over Real Sociedad | OneFootball

Barcelona star Wojciech Szczęsny has admitted that he was not fully able to enjoy his return to the Blaugrana goal on Sunday.

Hansi Flick’s troops were of course back in action yesterday evening, welcoming Real Sociedad to Catalunya’s capital for a La Liga clash.

When all was said and done, Barca emerged on the right side of a 2-1 result, recovering from a goal down during the first-half through headers on the part of Jules Koundé and Robert Lewandowski.

The aforementioned Szczęsny, meanwhile, for his part took his place back between the posts for the hosts against Sociedad.

As much marked the Pole’s first appearance of the new season, after he slipped to 2nd-choice behind Joan García following the latter’s summer arrival from Espanyol.

It was the injury-enforced absence of Joan on Sunday, though, which left Szczęsny unable to fully enjoy his side’s triumph.

Speaking to the media in the game’s aftermath, the former Arsenal and Juventus shot-stopper admitted:

“I am back and I could be happy, but I’m not because Joan García is injured. I hope he will be back in goal soon, where he should stay for a long time to defend our colours.”
