Barcelona star forced into early exit from Alavés clash | OneFootball

A leading member of the midfield ranks at La Liga giants Barcelona was forced into a premature departure from the club’s meeting with Deportivo Alavés.

The player in question? Gavi.

Youngster Gavi was for his part in from the off once more this afternoon, as Barcelona welcomed the aforementioned Alavés to Catalunya’s capital for a La Liga clash.

Inside the opening quarter of an hour, however, the Spanish international was hooked from proceedings.

This came after Gavi was involved in a nasty clash of heads with the visitors’ Tomás Conechny.

The latter was also hauled off amid concerning scenes, Conechny having been loaded onto a stretcher and fitted with a neck brace before heading straight down the tunnel.

As things stand late in the first-half on Sunday afternoon, Barcelona and Alavés remain deadlocked at 0-0, both sides searching for what could prove to be an all-important opener.
