Barcelona star Pedri the latest player to send heartfelt message to Sergio Busquets | OneFootball

Barcelona star Pedri has taken to social media, to send a personal message of thanks and congratulations the way of Blaugrana legend Sergio Busquets.

This comes after the latter announced his impending retirement from the game.

Midfielder Busquets is for his part currently plying his trade in the USA, alongside the likes of Lionel Messi and Jordi Alba at MLS outfit Inter Miami.

The 37-year-old, despite his advancing years, has enjoyed a fine individual campaign to date, boasting eight assists in 28 league appearances.

Busquets, though, has nevertheless made the call to hang up his boots once Inter’s season comes to a close.

Messages of well wishes and congratulations, in turn, have since come pouring in for a player who defined a generation of Spanish football.

And as alluded to above, adding his name to this list of well-wishers late on Friday was current Barcelona standout Pedri.

Taking to his official social media accounts, midfielder Pedri unveiled the following post:

‘I knew that this moment had to come, even though it’s hard to come to terms with it. You hang up your boots, but your football will remain forever, Busi. Also the vision of Barça and of life, which I had the luck to share with you during 3 years. I’m convinced that our paths will cross again in the future, friend. In the meantime, enjoy your new life and don’t doubt that both my family and I wish you the very best.’
