Barcelona star playing a key role in his replacement settling in at the club | OneFootball

A member of the goalkeeper ranks at La Liga champions Barcelona has played a leading role in the adaptation of summer signing Joan García at the club.

That’s according to Diario Sport, who point towards Wojciech Szczęsny as the player in question.

Shot-stopper Joan of course sealed a high-profile move to Barcelona back in June, after the Blaugrana activated the 24-year-old’s release clause at Catalan rivals Espanyol.

Joan has since gone on to quickly take over no.1 duties in Hansi Flick’s squad, excelling across his first three appearances of the campaign.

And the man whom the Spaniard has replaced between the posts at Barca has actually played an important role in this impressive settling-in period.

That’s according to Sport, who have on Thursday provided a fresh insight into the togetherness in Hansi Flick’s ranks:

‘Szczesny, who has been relegated to substitute goalkeeper, is doing his best to make Joan Garcia feel very comfortable in every training session. Everyone knows their role and accepts it with respect.’
