Barcelona star still a doubt to face Athletic Club | OneFootball

Barcelona star Marc Casadó has not yet been cleared to play his part in the club’s next outing.

This comes owing to the muscular issue suffered by the 22-year-old in Barcelona’s final fixture prior to the international break.

Casadó was for his part named in Hansi Flick’s starting XI to face Celta Vigo last weekend.

On the verge of kick-off, however, the Spanish international was pulled from the line-up, replaced by Dani Olmo.

This came after Casadó felt a twinge in his adductor during the warm-up at Balaídos.

With the bulk of Barca’s squad having since departed for international duty, and the rest afforded a well-earned break by Hansi Flick, the deep-lying midfielder has continued to work on his own at the Ciutat Esportiva.

That’s according to Mundo Deportivo, who have also confirmed that, whilst there is ‘optimism’ surrounding Casadó’s recovery, his participation against Athletic Club next weekend is not yet certain.
