Barcelona star to miss final UCL league phase fixture through suspension | OneFootball

La Liga giants Barcelona will be forced to make do without the services of midfield star Frenkie de Jong in their upcoming meeting with FC Copenhagen.

This comes owing to developments in the Blaugrana’s meeting with Slavia Praha.

Barcelona were of course back in action a short time ago, on the continent.

After making the trip to Czechia for a Champions League clash with the aforementioned Slavia, Hansi Flick’s troops ultimately emerged on the right side of a 4-2 result.

Their eventual victory, however, was soured by developments on the personnel front.

First, Pedri limped out of proceedings with what appeared to be a hamstring injury, ahead of a likely incoming spell on the treatment table.

Then, midfield partner Frenkie de Jong was also ruled out of Barca’s final Champions League league phase outing.

After picking up his third yellow card of the European campaign, Dutchman De Jong has been hit with a one-match suspension.

Barcelona are as a result likely to be without either of their first-choice engine room stars against Copenhagen next week.
