Barcelona youngster Álvaro Pérez, better known as ‘Trilli’, is set to go under the knife on Wednesday afternoon.
As much was confirmed in a statement released across Barcelona’s social media platforms this evening.
Defender Trilli, for his part, set alarm bells ringing in Catalunya’s capital this past weekend.
This came after the 21-year-old – a key member of boss Albert Sánchez’s backline – was forced into a premature departure from Barca Atlètic’s latest outing.
En route to an eventual 2-1 defeat at the hands of Amorebieta, Trilli went to ground early in the 2nd-half, clutching his shoulder.
After being put through an ensuing round of medical scans, the right-back was later diagnosed with an ‘acromioclavicular dislocation’.
And, as alluded to above, as much is set to result in Trilli – sidelined for much of last season owing to muscular problems – undergoing surgery.
As per a release on the part of Barca Atlètic on Tuesday:
‘Barça Atlétic player Álvaro Pérez ‘Trilli’ will undergo surgery on Wednesday afternoon for the acromioclavicular dislocation he suffered during the match against Amorebieta. Once the operation is complete, the Club will issue a new statement.’
