As Barcelona near the end of the ongoing season with a domestic treble, planning for the campaign that lies ahead concurrently begins.
Not participating in the FIFA Club World Cup after such a hectic run comes as a blessing in disguise and the players can hope to rest for a few weeks before the start of the new season.
The Joan Gamper Trophy, as always, will serve as the team’s curtain raiser for the new campaign with the squad officially being presented to the fans on that night.
Barcelona plan to host that game on August 9th or 10th but have serious problems planning the game itself.
As relayed earlier today, the Spotify Camp Nou is only expected to be ready by September this year, after the international break scheduled at the time.
As such, SPORT now relays that Barcelona are stranded for the Joan Gamper game as there appears to be no viable venue to host the game.

There is a very remote chance that the Camp Nou will be ready with all the required permits to host the game in time, while the Estadi Olimpic Lluis Companys is booked out for that weekend for a Blackpink concert.
The third venue thought of – the Ciutat Esportiva, was utilised for the curtain-raiser game during the pandemic but is no longer considered a viable option for the extremely limited seating.
Barcelona are thus scampering to find a place to host the trophy game, and it is not ruled out that it be postponed to the first international break.
That too, however, would appear logistically complicated given that the calendar will be hectic and the potential opponents must agree.
