Jules Kounde is proving to be an absolute machine for Barcelona this season.
The French defender has been a constant presence in the team, playing in every single match possible—an astonishing 51 games across all competitions for both club and country.
Whether as a right-back or a centre-back, Kounde has been an essential figure in Xavi’s squad, and there are no signs of him slowing down.
His incredible streak dates back to November 28, 2023, when he featured in a Champions League clash against Porto. Since then, he has played in every Barcelona and France game, either starting or coming off the bench.
The last time he sat out a full match was on November 25, against Rayo Vallecano. From that point onward, Kounde has become indispensable.
What makes his record even more impressive is his endurance. Out of the 51 matches this season, he has started 47 of them, and in 41 games, he has played the full 90 minutes.

Even after enduring extra time with the French national team, it is unlikely that Hansi Flick will rest him for the upcoming match against Osasuna. His ability to perform at such a high level week in and week out is nothing short of remarkable.
Beyond just this season, Kounde is closing in on a historic Barcelona record. He has now played 90 consecutive matches, getting closer to Antonio Torres’ legendary streak of 136 games.
His current tally includes 39 matches in the 2023-24 campaign and 51 so far this season—with appearances in La Liga, the Champions League, the Copa del Rey, the Supercopa, and international fixtures with France.
With his consistency, resilience, and versatility, Kounde is setting a new standard for defensive reliability at Barcelona.
If he maintains this form, he could etch his name into club history as one of its most durable and committed players.
