An emerging transfer target on the part of La Liga giants Barcelona would be willing to make a financial sacrifice to secure a move to the club.

That’s according to Diario Sport, who point towards Federico Chiesa as the player in question.

The name of wide-man Chiesa has of course taken its place front and centre in the headlines in Catalunya’s capital over the course of the last 48 hours.

This comes amid mounting reports that the Italian international has been identified as a potential bargain signing on the part of the Barcelona brass.

Chiesa finds himself on the outside looking in at Juventus at present, not in the plans of new Bianconeri head coach Thiago Motta.

With just a year remaining on his contract in Turin, the 26-year-old is in turn understood to be available for a cut-price fee.

Barca, amid ongoing disappointment in their efforts to land first-choice winger target Nico Williams, have therefore set their sights on a deal for Chiesa.

And, if the latest word stemming from the media is anything to go by, the Italian himself appears ready to do his part to push an agreement between the parties over the line…

As per a report from Diario Sport, citing La Repubblica, Chiesa is ready to cut his wages, from the current €6 million-per-year which he earns at Juventus, to around €4.5 million-per-season at Barcelona.

This would come as a direct gesture on the player’s part, aware of the delicate financial situation in which Barca find themselves at present.

One condition which Chiesa would be unwavering on in the case of a reduced wage packet, though, would be a guaranteed contract of either three years, or a ‘two plus two’.
