Flamengo are tracking forward Kauã Elias, formerly of Fluminense and now at Shakhtar Donetsk, but they face fresh competition from Barcelona.
RTI Esportes reports that Barcelona are trying to sign Kauã Elias as a potential replacement for Robert Lewandowski, though João Pedro, currently at Chelsea, remains their first option.
The pursuit is being led by Deco, who has already opened talks with the player’s representatives to assess the financial terms.
Clubs from Germany, Spain, France, England and Italy have also made recent enquiries, and Shakhtar are not minded to ease the forward’s departure.
Flamengo are not focused solely on Kauã Elias, they are also monitoring Argentine striker Taty Castellanos at West Ham, a long-standing target since the start of the year.
Leonardo Jardim’s side turn to on-field matters on Wednesday 20, when they face Estudiantes at the Maracanã at 21:30 Brasília time in the Copa Libertadores.
