After already having completed five new signings this summer, Real Madrid are looking primed to make some more additions to their team before the end of this summer transfer window. The Merengues have been linked with two players in particular in recent weeks, Yan Diomande and Rodri Hernandez, and, if signed, there is no doubt that these will be the most exciting additions to their team this summer.
Los Blancos’ operation to sign the Ivorian winger is apparently significantly more advanced, as some reports suggest that an agreement has already been reached with both the player and RB Leipzig. Meanwhile, negotiations with Manchester City are underway, as the Spanish midfielder is keen to return to Spain by joining Real Madrid.
The player seems to be quite clear about his destination. He has not really entertained interest from other European giants like Bayern Munich and Paris Saint-Germain.
Meanwhile, the La Liga champions Barcelona were also reported to have contacted his entourage in recent hours to inquire about the possibility of his signing, as they are looking for a replacement for the injured Frenkie de Jong. However, according to Diario AS, they have already been told that Rodri will leave Manchester City only to join Real Madrid.
For their part, the Merengues are cautiously optimistic about their chances of landing the Spanish star. While the player is keen to join, Manchester City are demanding €75 million for his transfer, even though he has only one year left on his contract. Los Blancos are looking to close the operation at around €60 million.
Furthermore, they will also have to make a significant sale to incorporate both Diomande and Rodri, and it remains to be seen what changes will take place in their squad in the coming days as the summer transfer window inches closer to its conclusion.
