Barcelona transfer target ‘informs club of his desire to join Barca’ | OneFootball

Athletic Club star Nico Williams has informed those behind the scenes in the Basque Country of his desire to La Liga rivals Barcelona this summer.

That’s according to transfer insider Fabrizio Romano, who has on Tuesday provided an update on the long-running saga.

Barcelona have of course long identified wide-man Nico as a priority transfer target for next season.

Amid an ongoing search for reinforcements in the attacking third, Deco and co. consider the 22-year-old the perfect fit in Hansi Flick’s XI.

Last week, an agreement, in turn, was found on the personal terms of a contract with Nico.

And as alluded to above, if the latest word stemming from the media on Tuesday is anything to go by, then Nico appears ready to do his part to make his Camp Nou switch a reality.

As per a report from Fabrizio Romano, citing information from the reliable Edu Velasco Jr:

‘Nico Williams and his agent informed Athletic about player’s desire to join Barça.’

It is also noted that:

‘Athletic are still not open to installments; only full release clause. The agreement Barça-Nico until June 2031 is done.’
