According to David Bernabeu of SPORT, FC Barcelona chose to turn down the chance to sign RB Leipzig’s breakout star Yan Diomande during the transfer window.
As per the update, the Ivorian winger, who is a top target for both Liverpool and Paris Saint-Germain, was actively offered to the Catalan giants this summer.
Despite the allure of the teenager’s immense talent, the operational doors closed rapidly because manager Hansi Flick maintained a single-minded priority: securing English forward Anthony Gordon, who has officially finalized his blockbuster move to Catalonia.
The journalist reports that intermediaries formally presented Diomande to Barcelona’s sporting department in the current transfer window to test the waters.
The 19-year-old winger has enjoyed a meteoric rise in the Bundesliga, earning rave reviews for his explosive dribbling, flair, and clinical final-third output.

Diomande finished his debut season in Germany with a return of 13 goals and ten assists from 36 appearances across all competitions.
Amid growing interest in his services, Barça were given a chance to sign the teenage winger, but opted against a move.
Instead, the Catalans priority was always signing Gordon, whom they roped in from Newcastle United in a deal that could reach €80 million including add-ons.
While Barcelona ultimately opted for Gordon, PSG have aggressively stepped into the void to spearhead the pursuit of the Ivorian prodigy.
Under the direction of Luis Enrique, the French champions have launched an intensive summer transfer offensive to bring Diomande to the Parc des Princes.

PSG view the young attacker as a generational wide asset capable of elevating their frontline alongside Bradley Barcola and Ousmane Dembele.
Meanwhile, Liverpool have also been pushing hard to sign the winger, following the departure of Mohamed Salah at the end of the last season.
Reports indicate that Leipzig have already knocked back an astronomical €100 million approach from Liverpool. Recognising his staggering trajectory, the hierarchy at the Bundesliga club are under no pressure to sell cheaply.
As for Barcelona, while they admire Diomande, the current focus is on signing Julian Alvarez from Atletico Madrid to reinforce the No. 9 position.
