Earlier today, it was confirmed by the Spanish national team that Dani Olmo had suffered a calf injury and would be returning to FC Barcelona this weekend, having been ruled out for their matches against Georgia and Bulgaria.
The statement from the RFEF confirmed that Barça had informed them about Olmo dealing with fatigue heading into the international break.
Despite that, the Spaniard stayed with the national team camp and trained until he was forced to stop abruptly today due to the injury.
As such, according to journalist Roger Arbusa on Catalunya Radio, Barcelona are far from pleased with how the Spain camp has handled Olmo’s situation.
As already mentioned, and confirmed by the RFEF, the Catalans had conveyed to the national team that the 27-year-old was fatigued and experiencing some muscular discomfort via a detailed report.
And Barcelona officials do not understand how this report was ignored, and how the national team staff allowed him to continue participating in training over the past few days, until it became clear today that he was not in good physical condition and was indeed injured.

Officially, Barça do not want to say much before seeing Olmo themselves upon his return to Catalonia for additional tests and a thorough medical examination.
But it is clear that within the club, there is evident discontent with the way his condition was handled.
There is already a lot of tension between Barcelona and the Spain camp over how Lamine Yamal’s discomfort was handled last month, ultimately leading to him missing several matches for the club.
Now, Olmo could potentially be ruled out for a period of three weeks due to the calf injury, meaning he could miss the first El Clasico of the season.
This could further complicate the relationship between Barcelona and the Spain NT, despite efforts from Deco and Aitor Karanka to smooth things over in recent weeks.
