Barcelona continue their charge for the LaLiga Primera Division title this weekend when they host Real Betis at the Lluís Companys Olympic Stadium.
La Blaugrana have been in unstoppable form of late, going unbeaten in their last 21 games in all competitions. They have averaged three goals per 90 over their last five matches.
Victory will not be a foregone conclusion against the Seville outfit, however. Manuel Pellegrini’s side are battling for a top four spot and qualification for the Champions League, while competing to win the Europa Conference League. They haven’t lost in seven games and defeated Real Madrid in March.
Barcelona trounced Betis the last time they met, winning 5-1 at home in the Copa del Rey, but Los Verdiblancos did snatch a point when they faced in LaLiga back in December. A 94th-minute equaliser from Assane Diao stunned the visitors at the Benito Villamarín.
The league leaders are still fighting on three fronts as Hansi Flick eyes up a second treble in his managerial career. “We are battling for everything,” the German said during Friday’s pre-match press conference.
Barça will have to make do without Dani Olmo, Marc Casado, Andreas Christensen, Marc Bernal and Marc-Andre ter Stegen due to injury. Lamine Yamal faces a late fitness test after he suffered a cut to his foot in last week’s win over Girona.
Key Betis midfielder Isco is suspended due to an accumulation of yellow cards, while Marc Roca has been ruled out with a foot injury.
Barcelona XI: Szczęsny; Kounde, Araujo, Cubarsí, Balde; De Jong, Pedri; Yamal, Torres, Raphinha; Lewandowski.
Real Betis XI: Adrián; Sabaly, Bartra, Llorente, R. Rodriguez; Cardoso, Fornals; Antony, Lo Celso, J. Rodríguez; Hernández.
The match will kick off at 8pm UK time on Saturday, 5 April at the Lluís Companys Olympic Stadium in Barcelona, Spain.
The game will be broadcasted live in the UK on Premier Sports 1 and live streamed on LaLiga TV.
