Barcelona can extend their advantage in La Liga to seven points with a win over Real Mallorca this evening.
Hansi Flick’s side won a dramatic seven-goal thriller with Celta Vigo at the weekend, as Raphinha’s 98th-minute penalty sealed a 4-3 win. Barcelona showed their powers of recovery after trailing 3-1 in the second half before roaring back to win.
The Catalans are closing in on title success, but Real Madrid scored a stoppage-time winner of their own against Athletic Bilbao to remain in the race.
This evening, Barcelona face a Mallorca side chasing European football. Mallorca are seventh, despite being the third-lowest scorers in La Liga.
Robert Lewandowski is ruled out of tonight’s clash with a hamstring injury. Barcelona are waiting to discover the extent of the Pole’s problem, with Lewandowski in a race against time to play in this weekend’s Copa del Rey final against Real Madrid.
The Spaniards also remain without the injured quartet of Alejandro Balde, Marc Casado, Marc Bernal and Marc-Andre ter Stegen. The latter trio will not play again this season. Hansi Flick could freshen up his side for this one with one eye on this weekend’s cup final.
Barcelona predicted XI: Szczesny; Kounde, Araujo, Cubarsi, Martin; Pedri, De Jong, Gavi; Yamal, Raphinha; Torres.
Barcelona host Real Mallorca in La Liga on Tuesday 22nd April 2025. Kick-off is scheduled for 20:30 BST.
Barcelona vs Real Mallorca will be shown live on Premier Sports 1 and LALIGATV.
