Barcelona will build a statue of Messi at Camp Nou

FC Barcelona has announced that a statue of Lionel Messi will be erected in front of Camp Nou. The club aims to honor the incredible career of the Argentinian, who played more than 700 matches in the blaugrana shirt.

President Joan Laporta believes this tribute was essential: “Messi deserves his statue. Just like Kubala and Cruyff. It’s obvious,” he stated, as quoted by Mundo Deportivo. He also specified that the player’s family has given their approval and that the official unveiling will take place once the design is complete. Messi currently plays for Inter Miami in MLS, but remains a towering figure in Barça’s history.
