Following a hard-fought 1-0 victory over Alaves in their last La Liga game, FC Barcelona are now set to face Valencia in their upcoming Copa del Rey quarter-final tie.

Although the Blaugranes are the favourites for this tie, they will still have to go into this game with full seriousness, as winning all the possible trophies, including the Copa del Rey, is one of the objectives for the Catalan team.

However, as Mundo Deportivo has noted, the Catalans will go into this game without the hassle of worrying about a possible suspension for any of their players for the next game in the competition.

In the cup, a player is suspended if he accumulates three yellow cards, and for Barcelona, it has only been Gavi, Raphinha, and Lewandowski who have been cautioned only once up to now.

This is also the case for Valencia, as in their squad, Dimitrievski, Guillamon, Diego Lopez, and Sadiq all have one yellow card to their names in the Copa del Rey.

Barcelona recently beat Valencia with a 7-1 scoreline in La Liga and thus will be full of confidence when facing them in this upcoming match. However, in addition to the competition, another factor that will make this upcoming tie different from the recent 7-1 win will be the venue, as this game is set to be played at the Mestalla.

Thus, enjoying home advantage, Valencia might look to spring a surprise in this game. Mestalla has traditionally been a difficult ground for any visiting team, and the hosts will be particularly motivated to get a good run in the cup as they are not having a memorable La Liga campaign, sitting in the relegation zone with only 19 points to their name.

Thus, this upcoming game promises to be a highly promising tie, where both teams will be looking to give their all without having to worry about a possible suspension in the next round.
