The past few days have seen the future of Barcelona youngster Fermin Lopez become a much-discussed topic in the media.
After all, the 22-year-old attacking midfielder is attracting serious interest from Premier League heavy-spenders Chelsea in the final days of the transfer window.
Indeed, the Blues are eager to sign the Spanish international and are prepared to offer around €65 million to lure him to Stamford Bridge.
Fermin, for his part, is studying the proposal from the UEFA Conference League winners, with the player given time until today to make a decision.
Amidst the growing speculation, journalist Alex Pintanel has now provided an update on the situation surrounding Fermin Lopez and his future.
As per the report, the 22-year-old La Masia graduate’s closest circle hopes and expects him to stay put at Barcelona.

The final decision will be made by the player himself, and Chelsea, for their part, are waiting to hear from him before they approach Barcelona with a formal offer for him.
As has previously been reported, Chelsea are promising Fermin a prominent role in the team along with a lucrative contract which would see his salary increase significantly.
Considering he has only played 45 minutes in two matches this season for Barcelona, it could play a part in the youngster’s decision.
However, Fermin’s commitment and desire to succeed at Barcelona have never been a secret. As such, the 22-year-old La Masia graduate could stay put, with those around him expecting as much.
