Supporters of La Liga giants Barcelona will be forced to wait to see new signing Wojciech Szczęsny in competitive action in the club’s colours.

As much was confirmed by head coach Hansi Flick on Saturday.

Barcelona are of course primed to return to action tomorrow evening, in a La Liga meeting with Sevilla.

The subject of the situation between the posts in the Blaugrana’s squad, meanwhile, has taken its place front and centre in the headlines in the buildup to the clash.

This comes with the aforementioned Wojciech Szczęsny, who penned terms in Catalunya’s capital earlier this month, now understood to be up to full speed, ready to take to the pitch.

Speaking during his pre-Sevilla press conference on Saturday, Hansi Flick, in turn, was drawn on the possibility of his new shot-stopper playing his part tomorrow night.

Barcelona’s boss, however, went on to reveal that the plan is for Iñaki Peña to continue in a starting role not only against Sevilla, but in midweek versus Bayern Munich, too.

“We don’t plan on changing goalkeepers for the Champions League. You never know what could happen, but for me Iñaki will play tomorrow and it’s planned that he will play on Wednesday. I’m very happy with Szczesny too.”
