Falkirk beat Hibernian 4-1 on Saturday at the Falkirk Stadium as Barney Stewart hit a hat-trick, keeping the hosts sixth in the Scottish Premiership.
In the 17th minute, Stewart tapped in from close range after Calvin Miller's cross. He struck again from the centre of the box off another Miller delivery (43.), before Rocky Bushiri's header from Jordan Obita's corner gave Hibs hope (59.). Louie Marsh came on and teed up Stewart to complete his treble from point-blank range (83.), and Grant Hanley then turned into his own net (89.).
Scott Bain made key saves to thwart Kieron Bowie and Rudi Molotnikov as Hibs pressed after the restart. The Bairns' back line, led by Liam Henderson and Connor Allan, dealt with a flurry of crosses.
After Marsh's introduction, the Bairns found extra punch on the left, with his sharp cut-back creating the clincher (83.). David Gray had earlier turned to Élie Youan at half time, but Hibs' momentum soon faded.
Play briefly paused for treatment to Stewart early in the second half, before he returned to finish the game.
The Bairns registered 17 attempts, five on target, and edged 51.5% possession. Hibs produced 10 attempts with four on target. Miller's two assists take him to six this season, third for assists in the Scottish Premiership.
Next, the Bairns visit Celtic. Hibs host Rangers.
