A statement by Marcel Desailly is currently causing a stir at FC Bayern and is unlikely to go down well at Säbener Straße. The 1998 world champion recently expressed doubts as to whether Michael Olise will stay in Munich in the long term
„I’m not sure whether he will stay at Bayern Munich for long,“ the Frenchman explained on the sidelines of the Laureus World Sports Awards in Madrid
It is no coincidence that Olise is now one of the most sought-after players in Europe. The French international has developed rapidly since his move from Crystal Palace in the summer of 2024 for around €53 million and has long been one of the key players in Bayern’s attacking play
His performances have also attracted international attention, with Real Madrid, FC Barcelona and Liverpool FC among those linked with the attacking star in recent weeks
Particularly explosive: according to Sport BILD, the Reds are even said to be prepared to pay a transfer fee of up to 200 million euros – a sum that is rare even in top international soccer

However, FC Bayern are unimpressed by the speculation – and above all uncompromising. Internally, Olise is considered unsellable. Even offers of astronomical sums are not expected to sway those responsible. The club sees the 24-year-old as a central building block for the future and wants to build its attacking play around him in the long term
Sporting director Max Eberl is correspondingly relaxed about the ongoing rumors: „We are letting everything that happens around us roll off our backs,“ the 52-year-old made clear
What’s more, Eberl is even positive about the interest from other top clubs. „We’re delighted that people are talking so positively about him,“ he emphasized. For him, this is a clear sign that Bayern have done everything right by signing Olise
The message from Munich is clear: anyone hoping for a transfer is likely to be disappointed
In the past, FC Bayern have proven time and again that they can keep key players – regardless of the size of potential offers. In the case of Olise, too, this line seems to be consistently followed.
