France international centre-back Dayot Upamecano (27) is expected to sign a contract extension with Bayern Munich in the coming days, according to L’EquipeThe outlet reports that Upamecano will sign, at least, a four-year contract extension. The Frenchman has entered the final months of the five-year deal he signed with Bayern Munich following his transfer from RB Leipzig back in 2021.

Upamecano’s fine form with the Bavarians, and France, as well as his contractual situation attracted the likes of PSG and Real Madrid. But Die Rekordmeister seem to have successfully cleared the final hurdles leading to Upamecano’s signing.

L’Equipe understands that Upamecano will bank a signing-on bonus in the region of €20m. FC Bayern have also agreed to include a €65m release clause in his contract, which could be triggered as early as the summer of 2027. Upamecano will also become one of Bayern’s highest earners with a €20m salary per year. The outlet understands that Vincent Kompany’s contract renewal undoubtedly contributed to Upamecano’s contract extension.
