According to David Ornstein, Alphonso Davies is close to agreeing on a contract extension with Bayern Munich.

For over twelve months, there has been great uncertainty regarding the future of the Canadian international, whose contract in Bavaria is set to expire this summer.

With Real Madrid and Der Rekordmeister going head-to-head for his services, as to where Davies would end up plying his trade beyond this season had never become clear.

Nevertheless, after the mind games played between all three parties, an end to this transfer saga finally appears to be in sight.

As stated within the report, Bayern and Davies are close to agreeing on a four-year extension, with only a small gap in the proposal to be ironed out before the 24-year-old puts pen to paper.

Los Blancos and other Premier League sides interested in the left-back have been informed, and are prepared to strike should the deal ultimately fall through.

However, it is expected that Davies will now remain with the record champions and sign a new deal.
