Sport Bild (via @imiasanmia) reports that Bayern Munich could offer winger Lennart Karl another contract extension to tie him down to the club long-term.
Karl is yet to turn 18, but once he does (on the 22nd February), his first professional contract will be active, which is valid until 2029.
Now, Bayern want to extend the contract by two years until 2031, whilst also giving the 17-year-old a pay rise which will see him earn €5-7m annually.
The Aschaffenberg native has been in the news recently for his statements regarding how he would like to play for Real Madrid at some point in his career. This has obviously not gone down well with some fans of the Bundesliga champions.
This season is not only the 17-year-old’s first professional season, but it is also his breakout season. In 13 Bundesliga games, he has three goals and two assists, whilst also scoring three times in four Champions League games, too, with one of his goals coming against Arsenal.
Once Jamal Musiala is back to full fitness with Bayern, it will be interesting to see how Karl fits into the attack.
