Earlier this week it emerged that Real Madrid president Florentino Perez was preparing an offer for Michael Olise.

The Bayern Munich winger has grown to become one of the continent’s pre-eminent attackers and Madrid were reported to be ready to pay €160m for him in the off-season.

Olise, 24, has got 29 goal involvements in 24 Bundesliga games for Bayern this season and has also been linked as a potential Mohamed Salah successor at Liverpool.

The France international’s dribbling, playmaking and chance-creation abilities would all be very welcome at Anfield - but this won’t be an easy deal to do.

The left-footer is under contract at the Allianz Arena until 2029 - with Bayern readying an offer to extend.

But Liverpool now know that Olise is no longer untouchable.

Bayern ready to consider nine-figure Olise offer

Reliable Bayern reporter Christian Falk in Sport Bild writes that Vincent Kompany’s club would be obliged to discuss an offer for Olise which surpasses €100m.

So even if Madrid have the first shot at signing Olise - and fail to secure him - Liverpool will be ready with a follow-up attempt.

“Bayern Munich are not planning to sell Olise,” writes Falk.

“The Frenchman is under contract with the record champions until 2029 – and that isn't likely to change anytime soon. Bayern are under no obligation to sell him. Olise's contract contains no release clause.

“However, the club's management would have to consider a nine-figure offer. Whether Real Madrid will actually offer €160 million remains to be seen.”
