Real Madrid have remained linked with the Bayern Munich star Michael Olise for the entirety of this summer. Rumors linking the two parties have strengthened significantly after the end of the World Cup, in which the French forward once again shone with his national team.

Before the World Cup, the Merengue club had to publish an official statement to clarify that they were not negotiating with the winger. Meanwhile, throughout the summer, Bayern Munich officials have also been making it clear that the Frenchman is not for sale.

Things have changed significantly over the last two days, as Los Blancos are now being closely linked with another star forward, RB Leipzig’s Yan Diomande, and this transfer can close the door on Olise’s potential move to Real Madrid.

In such a context, the Bavarians have once again reiterated that their star player is not for sale. As MARCA has reported, the Bayern Munich sporting director, Christoph Freund, spoke to the press after the friendly match between his club and the third-division side Wehen Wiesbaden, which Bayern ended up losing 1-2, and also addressed rumors linking Olise to Real Madrid.

The German official was quite clear in his response to these questions:

“Real Madrid rumours? That is absolutely none of our concern… We’re looking forward to Michael returning from his holidays. He will play an important role at Bayern this season, just as he did last season.”

With the Merengues expected to put in an offer of €120 million for Diomande, after already having seen a €100 million offer rejected by Leipzig, it seems highly unlikely that they will push for a move for Michael Olise this summer.

Although Christoph Freund’s statements closed the door to the Frenchman’s departure for any club this summer, they still did not indicate any progress on their operation to renew the player’s contract. If this planned renewal does not end up successfully, Michael Olise’s future at Bayern Munich will remain uncertain, and who knows, Real Madrid might ultimately land him next summer.
