Bayern Munich are tracking 17-year-old Benfica full-back Daniel Banjaqui ahead of the summer window, and Benfica are already alive to the interest.
According to Sky Sports, Bayern have Banjaqui on a shortlist for the summer window and plan to recruit a new full-back. The report adds that Feyenoord’s 19-year-old Givairo Read is the priority target, with Banjaqui also under consideration.
He has been involved with José Mourinho’s first team in recent weeks, making several appearances.
Benfica are working on a contract extension as the defender turns 18 on 24 March. There is not yet an agreement, and any new deal cannot be announced before he turns 18.
This season, Banjaqui, valued at 1 million euros, has played 23 competitive games for Benfica, 11 in Liga Portugal Meu Super, six in the UEFA Youth League, three in the Liga Revelação, two in Liga Portugal Betclic and one in the Taça de Portugal. He has logged 1,477 minutes, scoring one goal and supplying two assists.
