Vincent Kompany has been handed a timely boost ahead of the weekend, with both Serge Gnabry and Josip Stanisic returning from injury. The pair successfully completed Friday’s final training session and have been cleared for selection. Gnabry, who had been sidelined with an adductor issue, enjoyed a brilliant start to the season with six direct goal contributions in his first six league appearances.

Stanisic, meanwhile, has fully recovered from a knee ligament problem sustained in Bayern’s Champions League triumph over Chelsea.

In goal, Jonas Urbig is set to start. Kompany wants to hand the 22-year-old match fitness, with Manuel Neuer suspended for next week’s DFB-Pokal clash.

On the injury front, Jamal Musiala continues his recovery from a horrific injury sustained at the Club World Cup and is expected to return early next year. Alphonso Davies and Hiroki Ito, both long-term absentees, remain sidelined for the foreseeable future.
