Bayern are not planning to sign a January replacement if Leon Goretzka leaves for Atlético Madrid, and would be prepared to finish the 2025-26 season before moving in the summer.

Atlético would be willing to pay a maximum of €five million for the 30-year-old. Bayern would save €six to seven million in salary for the rest of the campaign. Sky Germany reports that concrete negotiations took place today.

There is still no final decision from the player. As things stand, the current tendency is that Goretzka will stay and finish the season with Bayern.

If he does depart this window, Bayern are currently not planning to recruit in January. They intend to cover the position with internal options for the next six months.

The club are keeping funds back for costly contract renewals for Upamecano, Kane and Laimer, as well as next summer’s business. They will assess Nathan De Cat and Kennet Eichhorn as potential options in summer.
