Bayern Munich’s summer transfer window is heating up with a flurry of discussions and shifting targets, but so far, few decisive moves, according to recent updates from FCBInside and Bavarian Football Works.

One player on the verge of departure is Sacha Boey. The French full-back, who joined Bayern in January, is close to a move back to Ligue 1. Transfer insider Ekrem Konur reports Boey has reached a verbal agreement with Olympique Marseille. While a contract is not yet signed, talks have progressed enough behind the scenes that an exit now seems likely.

On the incoming side, Bayern's search for a high-impact winger continues after setbacks in chasing Jamie Bynoe-Gittens, Luis Díaz, and, most significantly, Nico Williams. Williams recently extended his contract with Athletic Club until 2035, and his release clause has climbed to €90 million, as outlined by Christian Falk (Sport Bild) via Bavarian Football Works. Despite Bayern's reported offer of a €12 million net salary—outstripping Bilbao’s €10 million terms—Williams has opted to stay with his boyhood club, especially after a previous move to Barcelona collapsed over registration issues.

With preferred targets slipping away, Bayern are revisiting alternatives. Marcus Rashford, long admired by the club’s hierarchy, has re-emerged as a serious option after both Luis Díaz and Williams became unattainable, per FCBInside. A transfer for Rashford, who returned to Manchester United after a loan at Aston Villa, is now seen as realistic. United reportedly seek around €45 million. While Rashford’s form dipped recently, he impressed at Villa with four goals and six assists in 17 appearances. He previously posted 42 goal involvements in the 2022/23 campaign. Rashford’s salary expectations, exceeding €20 million per season, could, however, complicate negotiations.

Bayern’s squad planning has also involved considerations of other high-value targets like Real Madrid’s Rodrygo, though these prospects remain at the speculative stage. Meanwhile, domestic negotiations continue around Nick Woltemade, though talks with Stuttgart have stalled.

For any further developments—whether Boey’s expected exit or a late breakthrough with a marquee winger—Bayern’s activity in this transfer window is set to remain one of the summer’s biggest stories.
