It’s been a cagey first half hour of action at the Amex this afternoon.

Brighton and Hove Albion have just found a breakthrough against Manchester United courtesy of none other than former Red Danny Welbeck, who notched his 100th career goal in the 32nd minute.

Just moments prior, BBC Sport journalist Simon Stone spotted Bruno Fernandes getting a ‘real ear-blasting’ from Casemiro for overhitting a set piece. The Brazilian managed to get his head to the ball and fire it just over the crossbar but was left aggrieved that it was slightly behind him.

Stone recounted on the BBC’s live commentary: “Casemiro just gave Bruno Fernandes a real ear-blasting over that free-kick.

“The Brazilian headed over – he might have been offside anyway – having had to check his run as the ball was going to go behind him. He yelled at his skipper and left him in no doubt he expected it much further forward.”

Nonetheless, there’s significant work to do in the second half for Erik ten Hag and his men. United haven’t won the two opening games of a Premier League campaign for seven years, and it’s an unwanted feat that is in line to extend today should the scoreline stay as it is.
