BBC: Tottenham expect Milan to significantly raise their offer for Emerson Royal | OneFootball

Tottenham Hotspur are waiting for AC Milan to drastically increase their latest offer for Emerson Royal before any movement is seen with the Brazilian defender.

As reported by the BBC in the United Kingdom (via Pianeta Milan), the Premier League side are sticking firmly to their valuation of the former Barcelona defender and the deal is currently at a standstill.

As far as Tottenham are concerned, they should be receiving €20-25m for Emerson, who Milan think can provide good competition for Davide Calabria‘s spot in the team whilst also bringing more depth.

So far, Milan have not offered any more than around €12m for Emerson and that means they need to almost double the offer before Tottenham start to cooperate.

It is a very big distance at this stage and it seems unlikely that Milan will immediately make the jump to the figure that Tottenham want, so the deal seems a long way away from being done.

It is thought that Milan are still more focused on signing a striker and a centre-back before they start getting too stressed about a backup right-back, but it was clear last season that more depth was needed in that area of the squad.
