Real Madrid head coach Xabi Alonso has made known his frustration with Atlético counterpart Diego Simeone.
This of course comes fresh off the Argentine sparking fresh drama in the latest edition of the Madrid Derby.
Real and Atlético locked horns for the latest occasion on Thursday evening, with a place in the final of the Spanish Super Cup on the line.
When all was said and done, it was the former who emerged on the right side of a 2-1 result, to book a showpiece showdown with Barcelona.
Along the way, though, the aforementioned Diego Simeone did everything in his power to throw Los Blancos’ stars off their game.
Vinícius Jr. was targeted particularly harshly by the Argentine, culminating in a heated exchange between the pair en route to the Brazilian making his way from the field of play.
And one individual who was left entirely unimpressed by Simeone’s behaviour, as alluded to above, was Xabi Alonso.
Drawn on the latest jibe aimed at Vinícius by Atlético’s boss post-match, Alonso angrily responded:
“I try to be respectful to the opposing team’s players and I don’t usually speak to them. When I saw what Simeone said to him, I liked it even less. That’s not an example of good sportsmanship. Not everything goes; you have to respect your opponent. Everything that happens on the pitch has its limits.”
