FC Porto had a day off before returning to work, yet Jan Bednarek was at Olival on Sunday receiving treatment for a right knee lateral ligament strain that could keep him out for a few weeks.
The Polish centre-back was injured against Torreense in the Supertaça in the seventh minute. The club said in a statement that the problem was caused by the poor state of the Estádio Cidade de Coimbra pitch.

He watched the remainder from the bench with ice on his knee and has undergone further tests to establish the full extent.
The results will indicate whether he can be considered for the I Liga 2026/27 opener against Alverca on Saturday, 18h00.
Cláudio Ramos, recovering from a right thigh muscle injury, also worked on his rehabilitation.
