Jean-Ricner Bellegarde faces a number of weeks out after sustaining a left hamstring injury during a Wolves training session at the weekend.
According to ExpressAndStar.com, the midfielder had only returned last week following World Cup duty with Haiti.
Director of performance Phil Hayward said scans revealed a high-grade problem in Bellegarde’s left hamstring and that he faces several weeks out before he is back on the grass.
He explained the club built the player up gradually after his return, with the World Cup group given three weeks off that included a week of holiday conditioning, but a single action in training caused the issue.
Hayward noted Bellegarde had a similar injury on the opposite hamstring last December, which is viewed as a small positive compared with re-injuring the same area, though it remains disappointing.
He added that managing workloads after a long season is difficult and, with the season two weeks away, the focus is on getting the midfielder back as quickly as possible.
Elsewhere, Fer Lopez, who missed the Maidenhead and Real Sociedad friendlies with a minor groin issue, has trained this week and will be available for the final two friendlies this summer. Hayward also confirmed Adam Armstrong should continue to be available after a calf knock.
