England are into the World Cup semi-finals, and the spotlight is firmly on Bellingham. The Real Madrid midfielder struck twice against Norway, taking his tournament haul to six.
He levelled after collecting from Gordon, driving through the area and finishing low. He then completed the turnaround following a glaring error by Nyland. As reported by Superdeporte, Tuchel had said he did not like what he saw against Norway, a stance that stirred tension despite progress.
Bellingham responded that Tuchel might not understand what it is like to play in such conditions, and stressed that facing Haaland, Ødegaard, Nusa and Sørloth makes Norway a difficult opponent.
He added that England are trying to build a positive atmosphere and should keep doing so as focus now shifts to Argentina.
Already irritated, he offered no comment when asked about Tuchel suggesting England had some luck. He said they will not win every game by smashing the ball around or making 1,000 passes, sometimes you have to win dirty and that is what they did.
Tuchel had not viewed him as a starter before the World Cup, insisting he fight Morgan Rogers for a place and warning he could be benched if he did not show his qualities. Bellingham has since emerged as England’s leader after a poor season at Real Madrid.
