Arsenal defender Ben White has returned to the England squad for the first time since leaving the camp during the 2022 World Cup.
White has been recalled for the friendly fixtures with Uruguay and Japan this month, having not featured for England since facing Ivory Coast in March 2022.
The defender departed the World Cup squad later that year amid reports of a fall-out with former coaching staff.
England have confirmed that White replaces Bayer Leverkusen centre-back Jarell Quansah in the squad this month, while Newcastle winger Harvey Barnes is also added after Eberechi Eze’s withdrawl.
“Newcastle United’s Harvey Barnes and Arsenal’s Ben White have been added to the England squad,” an England statement said.
“The pair replace Arsenal’s Eberechi Eze and Bayer Leverkusen’s Jarell Quansah who are ruled out of the Three Lions’ March internationals through injury.
“Barnes made his only appearance for the senior team in October 2020 while White has four caps to his name.”
