Benfica have shut the door on an Amar Dedić exit after Manchester City’s interest, with president Rui Costa unwilling to entertain a sale.
O Jogo reported in its Saturday, 10 January edition that the Manchester club have been closely tracking the right-back, who has emerged as one of Benfica’s standout performers this season. Bosnian press added that Pep Guardiola is keen on the player’s profile.
City’s admiration stems from Dedić’s attacking threat and the defensive reliability he has shown for Benfica. Even so, the club’s stance remains firm and Rui Costa is not minded to let the number 17 leave.
This season Dedić has made 28 appearances for Benfica, 14 in Liga Portugal Betclic, 10 in the Champions League, two in the Taça de Portugal, one in the Taça da Liga and one in the Supertaça.
Across 2,368 minutes he has scored one goal and provided three assists. He is valued at 15 million euros.
