Benfica have confirmed the permanent departure of David Jurásek, with the left-back sold to Slavia Prague after an unsuccessful loan at Besiktas.

The club said in a statement, filed with the CMVM, that the fee is three million euros, with a further one million euros possible from a future transfer by Slavia.

The future amount due to Benfica may rise by about 50 per cent, with Slavia waiving the 10 per cent sell-on from his 2024 move to Benfica and receiving no solidarity payment in this transaction.

The deal resolves Jurásek’s situation and also frees space for Benfica to loan out another player. There is hope he could feature at the World Cup, which could increase his value and lead to a further move returning around 10 million euros to Benfica.

Jurásek, valued at around four and a half million euros, made 17 appearances for Besiktas this season, 10 in the Süper Lig, four in Europa Conference League qualifying, two in Europa League qualifying and one in the Türkiye Cup. He played 1,034 minutes, without a goal or an assist.
