Benfica confirm Real Madrid’s steep payment for José Mourinho

La Liga giants Real Madrid will be forced to pay out a significant fee to bring José Mourinho back to the club this summer.
As much was confirmed by way of a statement released by Portuguese outfit Benfica on Thursday.
Tactician Mourinho is of course primed to be unveiled as the latest installation on the Real Madrid bench any day now, after being identified as the ideal profile of coach to lead the club forward by Florentino Pérez.
The Portuguese’s Bernabéu comeback, though, will not come cheap…
Mourinho remains contracted to Benfica at present, with his release clause having risen to a considerable €15 million on May 30th.
Those in the boardroom at the Estádio da Luz announced this news on Thursday, alongside confirmation that Florentino Pérez’s campaign team have informed Benfica as a club of their intention to activate Mourinho’s exit clause in the case of the Spaniard winning the Real Madrid presidential elections this weekend.
